With Afghanistan in the headlines every day I was interested in learning more about that country. I just finished A Woman among Warlords by Malaila Joya, the youngest member of the Afghanistan parliament. It is a very eye opening but one sided portrayal of Afghanistan today. How about a selection of books on Afghanistan for What one Book. In fiction there are The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, The Warlord's Son by Dan Fesperman. In non-fiction, In the Graveyard of Empires by Seth Jones.
