Gowing up in the late 70's early 1980 I read a book based in WWII Germany and would like to find a copy if I can. It is a novel for young adults and the plot revolved around a woman who had taken in an American girl who had just come to live with her journalist Uncle. As they were traveling through the country they were in a car accident and the niece was taken in by a local citizen and the Uncle placed in the hospital. The plot centered around the fact the woman who was caring for her after the accident was actually hiding a pair of Jewish sisters. The young girl eventually discovered the secret and was able to help save the young sisters. There was a next door neighbor who was the daughter of a Nazi Officer and caused trouble by reporting there were Jewish people hiding in a local convent and it turns out her mother was actually hiding there. The daughter did not know her mother was Jewish.

For some reason this boook has been on my mind and I can not remember the title or the author. Please can someone assist me!
